Susie and I got out for a day to cruise up to BC for an outstanding hotel reservation ( non refundable although changed a couple times....) We stopped at Padilla Bay dike walk to observe the flocks of birds trying to keep warm in the below freezing temps and in the slush filled estuary ( salt water!) A dog could not be distracted from his giant prize!!
We drove on for a walk to Clayton Beach with frozen drainages and lovely orange madronas.
After an evening of sushi and water slides in Chilliwack, we cruised north from Mission up towards Davies Lake Provincial park but were stymied by snowy roads. We saw a sign for Cascade Falls Regional park and it turned out to be a gem. A short slick trail led to boardwalks and a suspension bridge over Cascade Creek and the falls were partially frozen and lovely indeed!
A very cool place to visit if you're up in the mainland.
