The Environmental Protection Agency shall terminate on December 31, 2018
It's a brief bill introduced by Florida Republican Matt Gaetz and co-sponsored by Kentucky’s Thomas Massie, Mississippi’s Steven Palazzo, and Georgia’s Barry Loudermilk. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/861/text

This is one of the things that Trump's antics are supposed to distract attention away from. Richard Nixon is looking more and more reasonable.

If you can afford to buy bottled water and air pollution does not bother you, it is for losers. wink.gif

I think a fair mount of bottled water is just bottled tap water. Even if it comes from a creek, it still depends on the Clean Water Act. Of course this bill has about as much chance of passing as the ACA repeals. It's all politics for true (dis)believers.

Notice though this isn't coming from the Utah contingent. Regardless of its ability to pass, the desire to dismantle environmental protections is spreading throughout the country. Ironically, rising sea levels will affect Florida the most.

Politics is fine in Stewardship as long as it's outdoor related.

Well, after what the EPA did/allowed to happen on and in the Animas River in Colorado the EPA is widely considered to be an agency not accountable to anybody. http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/outrage-grows-over-epas-contamination-of-western-rivers/ http://www.weeklystandard.com/the-epas-abuse-of-power/article/590334

^ Well.. .that's not the only Federal management agency that needs reining in. The USFWS is killing the real estate market in Thurston County with their crusade to save the Mazama Pocket Gopher. All things in the universe go full circle - sooner or later the overreach of State and Federal regulatory agencies will get a push back. Not a big surprise, and a great deal of support for the dismantling and/or weakening of those agencies from individuals who have been victimized by the insane antics of those who are put into positions of power to "protect the public" will most likely be seen. (And most of them are registered voters.)

Lets get real. The agency is going NOWHERE! But, and I applaud this, it IS going to get its budget slashed which is very good. ALL agencies need to get their budgets slashed. up.gif

Yes, that spill clearly negates all of the successful waterway and drinking-water source cleanups by EPA in the last 46 years. The EPA definitely should be terminated. As should some other useless or dangerous government programs, like the CDC’s vaccination program, since the chances of severe side effects to vaccines are as high as 1 in 100,000. In case you’re missing my drift: the bottom line is you should stick to your guns, as it were. Probability and cost/benefit analysis are obviously outside your purview.

Insulting sarcasm doesn't address the issue raised. That spill was just one of the problems many people have with the EPA. I didn't invent that. Why do you feel it necessary to throw an insult into this? It's got nothing to do with firearms, or the CDC.
