One of several access points for Icicle Ridge starts right on the edge of the town of Leavenworth itself. At some point in April the lower stretches of that trail should be melted out and some balsamroot may be blooming, always a treat. If you keep climbing you will certainly run into snow, snowshoes may come in handy. You can keep going indefinitely, you won't run out of trail (I think it's about 40 mi. one way from that eastern terminus of the ridge to it's western terminus by Stevens Pass).
Wildernessed's trip reports are a great place to look for ideas and good information for hiking in that area. Lots of spring trips there to scroll through. WTA, nwhikers, etc will usually have a few reports to give you an idea of current conditions when it's closer to your trip time.
