Beginning from the Stevens Pass overflow parking area on the north side of US-2, I headed up the trail/road which runs along the ridge SE of Skyline Lake. It was lightly snowing and visibility was poor.
Snow conditions were similar to the Snoqualmie Pass area yesterday. Heavy rain crust with approximately 4-6 inches of fresh snow on top.
After a relatively short skin, I arrived at the lake, where several people were camped, and then continued to the ridge crest above the lake. Around this time it stopped snowing and the sun came out, making for a really beautiful setting.
After breaking in the warm sun for a bit, I skied down the slope just east of pt. 5447. Downhill conditions were really good, other than having to carefully avoid a couple cliff bands. I ended up on the PCT, which I followed back to the parking area.
