Mt Hood is a great climb in good weather in mid March. Long ago 3 of us climbed to the summit in clear weather. We felt so good after the Hood climb that 2 of us then went to climb Mt Adams south route. The snow was so low we had to hike a long distance up the snow covered road to get to our camp at about 7,500 ft. The next day we climbed to the summit, returned to our camp, and hiked out to my truck. There was no sign of anybody else in the Adams area the entire time. We did see a blackish red fox at the Adams timberline. Then we thought we were in good shape and we would go climb Rainier - but the weather turned unfriendly so we went back to work.

I wonder if anybody has climbed Hood, Adams and Rainier in a 24-hour period? Is it even possible? That would be a cool project.

How was the wind while you were climbing?
Moderate on the way up. 25-30mph, I'd guess. Calmer on the way down. It was really, really cold, though. I had to put mittens on, which I rarely do.

The stone shelter was completely filled with snow.
This is normal. It always fills up, I think it just blows in.
