I've used this interchange many a time, and all we need is just one more excuse for drivers to "bugger up" the traffic flow instead of learning how to actually drive ... I can hardly wait to see how well this will work while they're constructing this mess.

I'm a wee bit cynical of transpo projects now that the DOT, particularly in urban areas, seems to have a terminal case of anticaritis. But after watching the vid, it makes sense, contains no symptoms indicative of an anticaritus infection, and appears perfectly logical. What the heck, maybe it will work.

Incompetent drivers will still be incompetent, regardless of revolutionary new highway design ideas (be they good, bad, or otherwise.) Raise your hand if you used to pick mushrooms in the cow pasture that is now WalMart's parking lot. wink.gif

I think they mocked this up as a slot-car track. I'm glad there are big arrows painted on the road.

How would Horatio Alger have handled this situation?

^ well... that's a good thing, except for those people who can't read arrows.

I have experienced these while traveling through Utah. Lots of the SLC exits to their arterials on I-15 have these going over the top of them. I hated them. After a lifetime of "drive on the right" it seemed counter-intuitive to drive on the left. I suppose one would get used to them quickly if you dealt with them everyday.
