A close look at the attached map segment (1935 Snoq. NF) shows the trail intersection where these signs would have been placed long ago. Map even shows the "cutoff".
It looks to be on the ridge south of Mowitch Lk. Not far from the spot where I took this photo of the Sunday Lk drainage in May 1974.
I have another curiosity to add. I was up there this last weekend and I saw these signs on the saddle west of the tarns. The one saying "Sunday Lake" pointed directly down the slope toward Honey Lake from there. I did not see the National Forest signs (I didn't know to look for them at the time).
