I think Nunatak has a winner by addressing the need for a non down jacket that can be used beyond camp and/or sleep wear. I'm especially impressed with the myriad custom options available via pulldown menus on their site. review here

👍 They have alot of quality lightweight products. I am using the Alpinist 20 degree bag in it's third year. What was the weight of your jacket ?

Well, I don't know. A basic Size L jacket is 10 ozs, but mine is obviously heavier with the 3.6 insulation in the main body, along with the extra length. When they shipped the half bag it included a weight of 7.1 ozs.

I can see that a warm hoody and elephants foot would be a lighter option during colder outings. On hotter late July and August outings do you use still use this system, or switch to something else?

I'll still use this for August trips that are planned fast packs, where I'll only be planning on 4-5 hours of sleep. If it's too hot I'll simply drape it/them over me as I'll be using a Borah Gear cuben bivy.
