Snohomish county only please. I had a great mechanic for many years unfortunately he passed away. I specifically need brake work done on a 1995 Chevy 1500 4wd truck.

Dave's in Mountlake Terrace. He has solely worked on my and my family's vehicles for more than 20 years. used to have a shop in Lynnwood, but moved to Terrace 10 or 15 years ago.

Put new pads on front, and rear shoes still have plenty of wear left. Problem is soft brake pedal and ABS and BRAKE warning lights on dashboard. Tried bleeding lines several times, does not appear to be any air in lines, but too much play in pedal.

There seems always a blessing of a few friends that are able to put breaks together.

It sounds like a crimp in the lines to me. Something is clogged and not happy.

We used to use Dave's in Mountlake Terrace when they were in Lynnwood. Good shop. Now I use KC Martin on 196th in Lynnwood. They are excellent. They do good work, but tell me when we can get away with not fixing stuff. Seems like fair prices. They never treat me like I'm stupid, even though I don't know very much about cars.

Brake's are really fairly easy to do yourself, I been doing them on my vehicles for 35+ years.
Assuming you've correctly bled all the brake lines, then I suspect you may have a bad brake booster (leaking) or an issue with the linkage between the brake booster to the master cylinder. Also make sure the vacuum line is connected to the brake booster (Would also cause rough operation)!
I would bleed again to make sure there is no entrapped air.
Make sure you connect the clear plastic tubing to bleed port so you can watch for bubbles, and have someone help you depress the pedal. Refill the master as you go.
With heavier vehicles like trucks and full sized SUVs, going to a high quality ceramic pads and slotted/cross drilled rotors does wonders for the front brake performance and longevity. (EBC or Powerstop)
