Hey my name is Andrew and I am a 29 year old Army LT. I already have two climbing permits for Sept. 17-19 for Rainier at Paradise trailhead. First time in Washington and standard summit route. My friend messed her knee up and can no longer make the climb however, even if someone is willing to hike only to Camp Muir I am happy. This would be my first time climbing above 9,000 ft and I am looking for someone with experience and willing to share knowledge.
Andrew, from what you've written about never going above 9,000 it sounds like you will need a snow climbing/glacier travel-rescue course first. Even if some experienced climber here wanted to guide you up (very doubtful given modern liability issues, and illegal for $ without permits) they would need a day or two to do that. That's a tall order to ask from a stranger on an internet forum. If you are set on a climb your best bet is one of the guide services.
I am not denying it's a tall order to ask. My "should be" partner is certified in glacier mountaineering, she simply got hurt. I know what I am asking and taking full responsibility for my actions. No one is liable for my actions other than myself.

It's a bummer that your partner got injured. Whether you find someone to guide you or not -- If the weather forecast is favorable -- it is worthwhile to at least hike and camp at Camp Muir.
