Ambled through the Inspiration Traverse from Eldorado TH to Thunder Creek TH over Labor Day. Quick synopsis: Day one: Stood with the crowds at the Marblemount ranger station to obtain permits. Shuttled the cars, and started the approach at 1045. As expected, the approach to Eldorado camp beat all desire to summit Eldorado that evening. Camped with two guided groups with another two groups camped on the glacier.
Day two: Crossed the Inspiration Glacier over to Klawatti. Turned around on Klawatti for lack of gear on the SW Face; moat to large for S Face. Dropped to the Klawatti Glacier and traversed around the East Ridge of Austera to the North Klawatti Glacier. Scrambled the West Ridge of Primus and descended to Lucky Pass. No summit register found on Primus. Scrambled Tricouni's West Face, and descended to camp near the scenic terminus lake on the Borealis Glacier (not shown on USGS).
Descended the North Ridge approach to Tricouni via climbers trail. Trail is steep but well established, but faint in places. Trail dropped us off just uphill from the McAllister Camp on Thunder Creek. Hiked trail back to the car at Diablo Lake.
Overall: An enjoyable and highly scenic traverse. Dry conditions for the descent in Thunder Creek would be optimal.

It's all downhill from here!

up.gif Great route, IMO deserves classic status. FWIW most parties go the opposite direction.

Indeed. We did a bit of gardening there a few years ago.
