Haiku. Thumbs up. Since recent Mt Alberta report I'm still confused as to what 'scrambling' means. I thought I knew.

Beautiful pix and wonderful haikus ... plus just a great time to be up there!! Apparently, it's also a place that inspires poetry.. I wrote this years ago after an autumn backpack to the lake basin: talking to the wind her silence broken … by the flap of raven’s wing as he brushes past her ear and whispers old stories by the wail of coyote’s sorrow as he pierces valley stillness and cries in love forlorn by the shadow of a great-horned owl as he swoops across the starry sky and screeches out a warning by the burnt leaf of autumn as it quakes in evening’s last light and mourns of summers loss by the lonely sentinel in the night as it guards the distant ridge and sings in quiet unison … she stands on mountain high talking to the wind

Love the photosphere. I'd take a lot more of these, but it's hard to keep the camera in the same spot for so many shots. My stitching rarely comes out as seamless as yours.

Thanks guys, and iron for the peak ID confirmation. I like the poem silence! Really illuminates some of the more beautiful experiences of being in the back country. puzzlr - I use my smart phone and google's street view app for making the photospheres. I've used google camera in the past, but it doesn't stitch as well. I've learned to be very patient and slow when creating these, and sometimes they still don't stitch quite right. This one took 2 tries.

Well done! You've inspired me to explore Tomyhoi and try my hand at some haiku. Smoke fills the skies Trails and roads are closing. Go north to scramble. So Yellow Aster beckons to go beyond to Tomyhoi. Larrabee next?

Great report on a beautiful location. Went by that TH just yesterday and it was nuts parking. It will calm down once the snows sog the meadows and gray the skies. Thanks for the creative report. Happy trails.

Nice baggers man! Hit those last year, that ridge scramble is alot of fun! That view is what inspired me to climb Larrabee. Awesome pics too!

As did I. Spent the night at Twin Lakes after taking a stroll out to High Pass then scrambling back over Winchester. Bagged YAB the next mornig, but the view of Mt. Baker wasn't nearly as nice. Shuksan was really hamming it up behind Goat on the way down from the LO on Sat:

It wasn't too bad when I was up there. I was surprised at the lack of a parking area, just parking along the road, but it wasn't too crowded when I was there. Didn't see anyone until back at the tarns on my way down.

That's by far my favorite reason to climb any given peak. I've seen it from another summit and think, oh I gotta climb that! West McMillan Spire has been on my list for a few years, but it moved to near the top after seeing it from this angle. Probably going to have to wait until next year though.
