This Is Your Brain On Nature
This is an interesting article about how we kinda need some nature to help us deal mentally with life. It is probably something many of us instinctually know but this chases a few science leads on that. There are a couple videos embedded in the article as well which are worth viewing.

PS: I hope I haven't duplicated another thread with this.
Also, let me know what part of the article you thought was most interesting.

...our bodies relax in pleasant, natural surroundings because they evolved there. Our senses are adapted to interpret in- formation about plants and streams, he says, not traffic and high-rises.
Interesting read. On trips I look forward to settling in to that cleaner more focused nature-rhythm which usually happens for me on about the third day. The South Korean part was also interesting. Thanks.

Thanks for this. As a health care provider/healer, from personal experience everything in this article jibes with my personal experience. Over a 30 year career, clearly depression, anxiety and panic are on a steep rise in the USA and the Northwest. I can think of no better elixir than nature to cure a lot of these maladies (or at least serve as a powerful adjunct to what is offered). Unfortunately, this wonderful holistic cure is low on people`s list.... I think people/patients are honestly quite surprised when I mention it as an alternative to anti depressants and anxiolytics. The reasons for this are quite complex I am sure. But, it is interesting and unfortunate how little press this wonderful cure for the human blues gets......
