Question: I want to hike this abandoned trail as a way to access Indian Henrys area...I will be taking a newbie and I want to know how rough this trail is. I know its likely overgrown...is it all horrific blowdowns? Thanks.
Been a couple years since I've tried but the trail was all but gone and we had to cling to the edge of Tahoma creek. At the time the creek was high and moving very fast. We never made it to the bridge.
I have since wondered if going up and over, through the woods during high water would work better?
Wish I had more for you.
I came back from Indian Henry's on the Tahoma Creek trail last Friday. There is a fairly challenging section when you arrive at Tahoma Creek from the west side road where it was washed out. I'd say a couple hundred yards of step side hilling through blow down. After that the trail is in pretty great shape, just a little brushy as you near the suspension bridge.
Earlier this year we met a couple women down from Indian Henry's who had come that way they were young and looked to be in good shape. They said it was quite hard. Unless your friend is experienced and in good shape I would choose another route like the one up the road.

So yesterday I did the Tahoma creek trail on a trip to Pyramid peak. It was in great shape. There is a point early on where people stay on the beach too long and get pushed into the dirt cliff washout section assuming they have to deal with it directly. However, now I flagged where you turn off the beach to hit the real trail ( which is well used and good) This trail is well above the dirt slide and avoids it 100%.
