I'd like a way for my photos to upload to my computer automatically when I am on my home network. I see they have wifi enabled SD cards- is there a clear best choice or do they all have pros and cons with the proprietary software? I was thinking of picking up a RX-100- can I send directly to a folder from the onboard wifi, or will I have to add Sony's software to my workflow?
I have Sony cameras, RX100 and A7ii.
I would never use the wifi to upload photos once home. It's just too slow and cumbersome. Also only uploads jpg's. I work with RAW.
I do however often use the wifi to transfer photos to my phone when away from home to review and share while we drive home etc.
I have a wifi enabled waterproof Fuji camera that I use for hiking. I have used the wifi to upload to my iPad while away from home. I can then use it to print on a wifi printer. At home I just pull the SD card as it is much faster.
