In today's Herald: The science behind the golden glory of Washington’s larches Not much science but an interesting article explaining the varieties of larches.

Hi, Schroder, I thought the article sounded familiar. For some reason the Herald doesn't attribute the author (or I haven't found it). This appeared in the WTA online newsletter earlier in the month. I pointed it out and linked it in the Larch Report thread a few weeks ago. wink.gif The author is Melissa Ozbek. What's nice about the original WTA article is that at the bottom of the page are actual links to hikes that feature larches. I certainly agree about the "science" title. I thought it would be something different. But it does a good job of distinguishing between the two larch species we see around here. ~z
