Read about it at the Spokane Spokesman-Review. Includes at least one advertising photo. Float the lake and then set up the tent, pole free!

I saw a floating tent on a local lake. Definitely caused me to do a double take. Intriguing concept. Cooking dinner might be a challenge.....

The thought of hauling around a 75 pound play floating tent any distance doesn't sound like much fun.

It helps to live in Oregon where you have drive up access to a bunch of lakes. My pedal kayak weighs about that much. It would be pretty tough to portage it in a few miles. Floating tent I saw was in a lake just a few feet from a road.

The tent in that photo is tethered. How would one paddle it while the tent was up?

Looks like something you would find drunken college student in, on Spring Break, at a lake. Hopefully the cost will keep them from becoming litter...

Strap on a couple of gas-powered leaf blowers, and you could fashion yourself a high speed hovercraft!

Throw it in a canoe and you'd have a comfy place to sleep. Ross Lake, Chelan, Lake Wenatchee, The River, and I can think of several other places. But should a wind come up during the night, the Gilligan's Island song comes to mind. I wonder if it would annoy the rich lake front house owner crowd? up.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Say you put it on Ross Lake... would you need a camping permit still?

You'd probably have to have a potty of some kind on board. Or float on lakes that have floating potties.
