Lake CleElum is such a pretty landscape when it's drained down to winter water levels. I like to visit when the basin is at these low levels.
Gloomy and raining pretty good when we were there and the chocolate milk streams draining into the lake were very pretty. Lake from the mountainside on east side
The chocolate milk water, water carved erosion, and terrace levels are natures simple beauty. Different colors of water clashing at a distinct line
Wife walking down a pretty corridor of mossy trees
We visited the wind farm at sunset just above Thorp. Pretty cool area at that time of day. We've done it many times. I think it's nice that the public is allowed to drive through. The other famous horseshoe bend in the upper Yakima River Canyon.
Cool to watch the storms clouds creeping over the crest from west side
A couple more wind farm images
Simple pleasures

Experience is what'cha get, when you get what'cha don't want

Used to be a person could find native artifacts if they knew where to look. And thanks but no thanks. Not a fan of seeing wind turbines on the landscape.

My scrounge/garage sale mentality is tickled by the possibility of finding who-knows-what in this exposed lake bottom.. ...reminds me of walking under the ski lifts right after snow melt..up.gif

Nice. I've driven by the low water stage many times but never ventured out there.

Cool lake pics.
If you ever watched the show Northern Exposure back in the 90s, this is roughly the spot where they filmed the scenes of Dr. Fleischmann living in a remote indian village along a "river."

biggrin.gif Yep! I remember the show but didn't follow it. I could see how that spot would be used for those scenes. Btw, thanks for the referral for the Whippets. I was surprised how few people even know / knew about them ( including me ) REI folks had to look them up when I asked for them. I didn't purchase there but wanted a hands on. I really like them! Like you, In "cane" mode
