The days are getting short for long drives to get to hikes but the lure of some sunshine kept us moving east away from the pea soup fog and icy roads around Snoqualmie Pass. It's always worth the trip over to Cleman Mtn, an area I've come to appreciate very much. Brucester and I started up the west rim of the canyon soon after passing through the wildlife gate at the small parking area for Waterworks.

Nice to see that beautiful blue sky. Are there wildflowers up there in the spring?

Some spring shots of the same area on May 3 of this year. Flowers are popping after mid-March but the rattlers start to wake up then too though I've never seen one in my 5 hikes here.

Did you hear any shots from the south? I saw hikers up there on Wednesday morning looking across the valley. I knew I that someone would be in that area with how popular it is becoming with west siders, so I went to another place. I don't think the majority likes it when I'm hunting up there even when I show up first.

Have I offended you today?

I heard a couple of shots from the south. Two trucks were on top but it was quiet up there. Two hikers in the canyon? The place is overrun. biggrin.gif I did see someone else in the distance on the east side of Meystre.
