A quick trip up to Lake Twenty Two on Wednesday. Our Plan A was Pilchuck but turned around when we discovered the road [freshly] closed just beyond the Heather Lake TH (didn't feel like walking an extra eight miles). We were surprised at the road closure because there was a WTA TR dated three days prior. Oh well. So we bailed and drove back to the MLH and the Lake 22 TH. Neither of us had done this hike before. The weather made it fun and beautiful! A few shots....
We met two ladies as we hiked around the lake and stopped and chatted for a bit. We decided we'd better take a picture together since no one else was silly enough to be out in the rain/snow! We were disappointed to miss out on Pilchuck but now we've been to Lake Twenty Two and we were grateful for some beautiful wintry weather to make it fun!

Lake 22 is always a good bang for the buck. Usually crowded but worth it on a weekday. Thanks for the update on the road.

Looks like a good day! No one else was on that trail?? Thai is odd indeed.

Nothing odd about Thai, it's quite tasty cuisine. suuure.gif Sorry, couldn't resist. Looks like a nice hike. That's a good shoulder season hike, I've done it many times over the years.

We saw five other people on the trail but no one else (other than the two ladies) at the lake. And we spent a fair amount of time at the lake (walked all the way around, took lots of pictures, ate lunch, made jetboil hot chocolate, etc) so I was surprised to not see anyone else!
