Anybody know a resource that predicts a approximate elevation for the inversion zone (s) Other than resort cams and mountain pass cams https://www.stevenspass.com/site/mountain/cams/resort-cams?gclid=Cj0KCQiAgZTRBRDmARIsAJvVWAtUACI1ErtW5_Vn5-S0lsDIv9vDFQD_L9CI0Ql2qvfR4Ypr_ZvUmN0aAlgAEALw_wcB Thanks

Any Skew T experts here? Any glider pilots schooled in Skew T's? Convert the millibar units on the vertical-left to approx. elevation. So, 900 (millibars) is about 3,000-feet. (And 1,000 is about 300 feet.) And, um . . . then a bunch of other stuff . . . (not quite, but sort of where the red line meets the blue line, at the bottom, is the base of the clouds, but there's more to it than that . . . and something similar for the tops of clouds? Not clear on a few key points.) My own past exploration efforts in using Skew T's to answer that specific question have led down a rabbit hole or two [online pay-courses describing every nuance of the Skew T], since Skew T's cover a lot of stuff. The right person could give a five-minute answer, like: • a glider pilot • Cliff Mass But the answer is a very specific part of the Skew T plot, it seems . . . and it's not typically directly covered in tutorials.

Your car?

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Cliff Mass is calling it a "Godzilla ridge" and it is expected to stick around for quite a while. Our normally darkest part of the year won't be so dark if you can get into the mountains. Thick fog covers the city as I write this. http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2017/12/the-godzilla-ridge-returns.html

The sun just came out here at 1000 feet in the foothills of the Cascades.

It was 54 degrees on the shady side of the house today! Some guys who came out from Centralia to do some work said it was freezing and foggy there and they were overdressed for our summery day.

It's been very windy here in May creek for the last 24 hours. Yesterday had gusts up to 40'S. Still very breezy this morning.
