Terminology:
USA satellites = GPS
Russian satellites = GLONASS
European satellites = Galileo
I have an iPhone 4s and Samsung S6 Edge+. Both get data from GPS and GLONASS satellites, but not from Galileo satellites. Typical location accuracy is 12-15 feet. The S6 once showed an accuracy of 9 feet.
From what I have read my understanding is that phones that get satellite data from GPS+GLONASS+Galileo will typically show a location accuracy of ~2 meters. I am curious to know if that is true.

What kind of GPS accuracy are you iPhone 6s (or newer) owners seeing? If you do not have a GPS app yet just open https://findmesar.com and wait till the accuracy value stabilizers.

If you have a relatively newer Android, what kind of location accuracy do you see?

The default main screen for this app shows what satellite constellations the phone is seeing.
Circle = GPS
Box = GLONASS
Plus sign = Galileo
X = BeiDou (China)
Since all I see are circles and boxes my Samsung S6 is not using Galileo data.
The specs for the Samsung S8 indicates that it gets location data from GPS, Galileo, Glonass and BeiDou.

Anyone have a Samsung S8 or other Android device that supports Galileo? What location accuracy are you seeing?
Caution!!! Android devices have 3 location “Methods”. For the most accurate location (assuming you are outside with a reasonable view of the sky) select “Phone only” (sometimes called “Device only”). This setting will only use data from the satellites. The “High accuracy” setting should be called “Medium accuracy” since it allows data from cell towers, etc to degrade the more accurate data produced by the satellites.
