Went up Round today. The views are still great. Bootpack should be in until the next storm, put on snowshoes around 3800 or so. Snow seemed almost springlike up high.
The road is snow free and in pretty good shape all the way to the barricade at the bridge. Approximately 1700 feet in elevation. Drove a small SUV, seems like most cars would probably be fine as well. From here its about a ten minute walk along the road to where the route starts.
I was checking out the Round Mtn trailhead and parked a mile and a mile and a half from deer creek because of snow. The start of the trailhead on the right was noticeable w/the sign on the large Fir. There was perhaps a couple feet or more of snow in places. I decided to walk back to my car as I did not have snowshoes. I’ll be looking into the snow route later this winter.
The snow shows up around 3k feet..
