There is something wrong when a country can be trillions of dollars in debt, there is talk of an imminent government shutdown, yet football teams are spending billions of dollars on a new facility. http://www.cnn.com/style/article/new-nfl-stadium-los-angeles/index.html

Thatís all good and stuff...but how will that impact NFL team players and their purchasing of the Discover Pass?

Nothing, just wanted to point out the irony of the countries financial situation.

Clearly the 1% have too much money and as has been pointed out the middle class get's screwed, and paying to hike-climb etc does have a negative impact upon them.

How many professional sports franchise stadiums/arenas are completely funded privately?  It seems like local tax payers end up paying for a large portion of said structures.

How did the 1% get their money, Mr Envy/Jealous?

Was it by force? Or by the 99% buying the crap they make and sell?

Do the 1% buy Discover Passes in WA?

Sounds like a good research project for you.

Of course, there should be 0% funding. That might help drop the price of the Discover Pass to $29.50.

Sadly, the voters chose to help fund CenturyLink field with 51.1% (50% + 1 for taxpayer debt is a crime of justice). The WA state legislature passed a bunch of taxes for King County to help fund Safeco Field. Sounds like a double screwing for King Co residents. Ah...nah, they love being taxed.

Well at least in Seattle, it seems like you have 2 choices.  Voters can approve tax measures to fund professional sports stadiums, and if they don't our wonderful local government will just go ahead and tax them to fund the stadiums anyway.
