For those NW Hikers who volunteer on trails & work for Big Corp, be sure to check into your corporate gift match program. A certain large aerospace company is upping their cash and hours match limit from $6k / year per employee to $10k and lowering the hours threshold / increments for obtaining hours match from 25 to 10. I hear a large Redmond software company and a Seattle on line retail giant also have quite generous programs of cash and hours matching. Check in with your corp HR / community affairs group to see if you're eligible to get cash or hours matching. Get out and volunteer on trail and your hours do double duty - not only is the trail better off from your work, but you're helping to finance the very program you're participating in.
