On late Friday the sunny forecast for Saturday's weather precipitated a flurry of last minute pack packing action for this Jackson with the precipitously hatched plan being a packraft paddle to Rainbow Point about 5.5 miles uplake from the put-in. The weather was indeed terrific and calm waters permitted a fairly fast paddle of 2h 3 min (including some goof around time taking bad pictures). This left plenty of time to scrounge around for some less-wet specimens among a lot of pretty soaked driftwood. But Dr. K's Magic Waxy Balls will get most anything started, especially when combined with a little bourbon (which goes directly into Dr. K, not on the fire). Anyhow, as is usual this time of the year, I had the place all to myself and had great time.
