Last weekend I spent time in Oregon. My plan was to drive to Lincoln City and hike up to God's Thumb. The hike was great and offered a lot. On Facebook I found this link and it really jumped out at me. I got down there really early after dropping my family off at PDX for their trip to Nashville. Having arrived before sunrise I hung out at Roads End Recreation Area and went down to the water.
The link above gives a great description of the hike, I took the longer loop.
I will just reiterate to respect the private property around the access to God's Thumb.
I somehow lost the photos that I took.....so all I have for you is a vide with a few photos that I took with my phone.
Puzzlr, certainly very overlooked. Until recently though this was mainly only known to locals due to access issues.
Tom, thank you for your comment. I enjoy making the videos and I’m glad you still enjoy them after all of these years.
LookoutBob, the Oregon coast sure is beautiful. We are doing well and my son is growing up too fast!
Certainly a more lush setting than a different "thumb" hike that I did last week: Tom's Thumb, near Scottsdale, AZ. However, Tom's thumb looks more like a thumb than God's thumb to me, so it's got that going for it
Great report, thanks!
