In 1998, while studying at Cambridge University, I attended a lecture by Stephen Hawking. (I was an engineering student and didn't understand a word of his lecture, but let's not dwell on that.) Since the lecture hall was packed beyond capacity, prior to the lecture we had to wait in the entrance corridor until Hawking had gone in, before we could enter. As he drove by in his wheelchair he bumped up against the wall, right beside me. I straightened the wheelchair and he continued on his way. That moment is still one of the most thrilling points in my life.
