You have 1 maybe 2 days to get in a day hike or two on Kauai, any recommendations? Nothing to extreme or on a narrow trail on the edge of a cliff.

Kalalau Trail is well maintained (or at least used to be) out to Hanakapiai Falls.
8 mile round trip.
Awaawapuhi is must-do. Do it as a loop from Nualolo Cliffs if its still possible. Most spectacular hike in Hawaii.

There are a myriad of hikes in Kokee State Park ( Grand Canyon of the Pacific) I recommend the Alakai Swamp trail....take your rain gear though....gets 300+ inches of rain a year....

Nu'alolo and Pihea trails. There are too many good ones to list, though.

The Awa'awapuhi view point is probably one of the best view points I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.
Buuuuuuut... to get the really good view way down both canyons you have to walk down a knife edge (really a sidewalk edge) ridge with huge exposure. Sounds like you don't wanna do that, but just past the gate you can see down in a little bit and just go as far as your comfort level dictates. Also up that way is the Pu'u o kila view point down Kalalau Valley (the classic postcard shot) which is also worth checking out. Be prepared for steep slick hard packed mud if you do that one.
On the North side, the hike up to Hanakapiai Falls is about Mt. Si difficulty and is a great hike. Sleeping Giant is a pretty easy hike with OK views on the East side. Good place to watch a sunrise. On the south by Poipu is the Mahaulepu Heritage Trail which is a great very scenic pretty flat trail along a rocky sea shore. Pretty easy, great bang for the buck so to speak. Those have been my favorites from my trips to Kauai.

Thanks for the input everyone, definitely narrows it down for me.
Heading over on Sunday. I'm in need of some sunshine and warm breezes.

Coming in late to endorse Mahaulepu Heritage Trail and Awaawapuhi. On the former, see if you can find the days when they've got the archaeological site at the sink hole open and bring a few bucks to donate.... amazing stuff.
Also be sure to leave a day for a tour of Allerton Gardens. The work they're doing to study and preserve tropical plants there is fascinating and sorely needed.
