Avalanche Warning. Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist in the Bridger Range. Bridger Bowl got 30" of snow. Mountain snowpack is 'incredible' following record-breaking February snowfall in many locations. Observers say snowpack levels in the Northern Rockies are like those in 2011. That snowmelt in part brought historic flooding along the Missouri River. As of Monday, Feb. 12, snowfall in Havre was 70 inches, with yet another storm expected to hit the snow-battered city Wednesday afternoon. That's almost 4 feet above normal — and the snowiest it’s been in the city at this stage of the winter since 1880, when weather records began in Havre, according to the National Weather Service in Great Falls. Getting through a winter in Montana's highest-elevation town is not for the faint of heart. Upcoming storm could bring 9 inches of snow to shatter Billings' all-time seasonal snowfall record. The National Weather Service reports the folks in East Glacier have seen 234.5" of snowfall this season.

Although snow levels have been higher this year there is a ton of snow above 5500' in the North Cascades and 6500' near Mt. Rainier. Both Rainier and Baker are going over 200" of depth today with 270" at the top of the Baker ski area - 5000'. Total snowfall at the Baker base reached 777" on 4/5 and is surely well over 800" by now.

Which town do you refer to?

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.
