Two voices : a history of the Sauk and Suiattle people and Sauk country experiences by Jean Bedal Fish and Edith Bedal, daughters of Harold Bedal, of Snoqualmie NF Ranger District. Narratives from these ladies include their childhood, as Darringtonians, as tribal members (their mother was a Sauk-Suiattle princess), as horse packers for the USFS. Narratives collected by local historian Astride Blukis Onat. The new edition has sharper photos than the last edition! $40, cash only at Darrington’s Hometown Bakery & Pizza (very good pizza; homemade, organic ingredients). Anyone interested in getting a copy and can’t get to Darrington, let me know and I will pick one up for you. Here's a link to a bit about the ladies written using research from Two Voices.
