Sir-Hikes-A-Lot on snowshoes! The world is turning mad!
Very nice trip. I've had the Middle Ridge as a snowshoe on my to-do list as well. Looks like a great snowshoe outing. Interesting that snow only started at 3700ft. I expected it to be lower still. Last year I hit snow there at 4200ft at the end of May! ( https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1092902 )

I hit solid snow at about 4100' on May 20th last year in that area -- looks like things are melting more quickly at the lower elevations.
That's quite a haul on the suiattle trail all the way to middle ridge! especially for a day trip. on snowshoes.

I knew this looked familiar:
North Side of Fortress
That back side of fortress looks like it'd be a fun ski!

Does anyone know if these are wolverine tracks? I'm no expert by any means but they look like pictures I have seen of them.

Awesome. I hope the slide doesn't close the trail like on the Middle Fork.

Went up there today, although not nearly as far as Middle Ridge. Went south on the PCT just a little beyond the bridge crossing the Suiattle. Went w/ a couple friends who hadn't been up there before. Such a pleasant valley to stroll up, perfect spring hike for getting some distance w/ easy miles.
Man, there was elk poop EVERYWHERE. They've been busy crapping all over the trail, pretty much right from the start and most of the way up to where we turned around.

Don't know that I would recognize Bam-Bam if I saw him. I didn't even look at the TH register, don't know if he was up there again. There were several groups coming down the trail that spent Saturday night up there.

I agree. I have put in many, many miles on the trail and have still rarely seen a bear in the wilderness; I usually see them by the road. Therefore the poop is the goal. It's an excellent distillation of the bear's passing by.

Hello Sir. I am headed up to Image lake soon and have to go in through the suiattle river due to fires near wenatchee. I have never gone in this way. I read your post and many others and just want to get a specific idea of how long the hike is from the suiattle river trailhead to Image lake, or at least how far from the trailhead to miners ridge trail 785. Also, do I have to bike the suiattle river road at all to get to the trailhead? Much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Trying to decide between image lake area or white pass to glacier peak.
