Super cool. Also cheaper than dirt, and it runs every 30 minutes. Here's the schedule.
These should be everywhere.

Why not make the parking lots bigger? I suspect that would have been cheaper and easier.

With the new shuttle service Seattleites living car-free may take the metro bus to North Bend and the shuttle to the trailhead.
One bus load probably carries the equivalent of 20 cars and the bus doesn't need to park.
Anyway -- If you think LC bitter complaints about the DNR ruining Mailbox were bad before, wait until he has to share it with several hundred hemp T-Shirt wearing , flip-flop wearing car-free millenials.

Meanwhile, where are the 15-20 cars that usually park there on the weekend supposed to go?

I wonder what the 2018 annual cost will be for this program. Last year, the small amount of riders that used the service (900 people) cost $44,000 with just $2,200 in revenue to offset the costs.

Take the furniture back to Amazon's lobby where it belongs.
Good point Yukon. That works out to about $45 per person. Would have been much cheaper to offer free ubers. And why did they need to permanently block all that parking, eliminating its use even when the bus is not running if the goal is to reduce trailhead congestion?
I support the bus idea, but this implementation is very poor.

More and more people want to use trails near Seattle and car capacity on our roads and parking lots can't increase forever. There need to be options that don't involve a car for getting to these popular I-90 trailheads.

Looks like a nice fresh seat now. Imagine it again next spring. Nobody will be sitting on these moldy, wet benches.

The issue here is that parking didn't increase. It decreased.

I'd give it a week or two until the local teenagers go out there and destroy or defile them.

How long before the gourmet food trucks and beer taps show up?
