Greetings Planning a trip up from the middle fork to Ivanhoe and wondering if anyone has been up there yet this year? Plan to stop at Williams Lake and go over to Ivanhoe. Will be backpacking. Was to Williams many a year ago, but didn't go over to Ivanhoe and think it is worthy of a visit. Kinda like...if one goes to Waptus...a visit to Spade is magical. Hoping to head up the beginning of July. Any information is welcomed.

I choose to live in a landscape of hope. Terry Tempest Williams

I was just up noodling around on my bike up near Cooper lake yesterday. The high country beyond that quite obviously still has quite a lot of snow, and the top of Red mtn (around 5,700') had fresh snow on the top. So.... Still early.

I did a similar trip last year, routing through Snow Lake, dropping down to the Middle Fork, then camping at Gold Myer hot springs, then the areas you described, then after hitting Waptus Lake, joining the PCT and hiking out to Snoqualmie Pass for a big loop hike. Nice trip and very convenient. But of course it is way too early to do this now (I did it in August).

The road to the Hardscrabble trailhead only melted out on May 28 so I'd still expect a lot of snow in the upper valley from there to Dutch Miller Gap.
