Hi all. I'm new to NW Hikers so please bare with me as I figure things out. :-) I had a wonderful ramble up Copper Mountain over Memorial Day weekend. Located at the headwaters of Early Winters Creek, Copper Creek, and the North Fork of the Twisp River, Copper Mountain is a beautiful place! The weather was fine, and the snow was perfect for traveling. I carried spikes an snowshoes but didn't use either. Encountered a few skiers doing the "Birthday Traverse". Smile all around. I had tried climbing Wallaby Peak a few days earlier but was stopped by conditions so my interest took me towards Copper. The route was mainly snow covered from the hairpin (just east of Washington Pass on Hwy #20) to the summit except for near Copper Col and a lower section on the ridge above Copper Pass (there was a section of 3rd/4th class here). A quick summary of my route, Parked near the hairpin on Wa. Pass, traveled ESE up Early Winters Creek basin towards Kangaroo Pass, cut up, climbers right, to Copper Col, dropped into Copper Creek basin and traversed to Copper Pass. Turned east from near the pass and climbed Coppers west ridge/shoulder to the top. Took the same route back to the truck. It was a special day. 6miles +/-, 4,000- elev. gain, 7-8hrs. Cheers Brian

Yeah ... it took me awhile to figure out where you went as well (there's a few Coppers in WA) ... nice work as always!
