Over the last number of years I have been having real problems getting decently fitting shoes. My toe box is just a little to wide for most running shoes, and if I get the wide version they end up loose and sloppy. Up to now I have replaced insoles with happy feet and gotten a reasonably decent fit with a few select shoes. Just learned that their are various different ways of lacing your shoes that can also help to dial in a perfect fit. Other examples keeping your heal in place reducing toe jamming and blisters , for high instep ect.... For some reason I have never figured this out until now. So passing on a few helpful links if you have any better ones do post.
From the vast amount of interest this post has generated I think we 2 are easily amused, or perhaps behind the times on shoelace techniques. I think this kind of stuff is really cool, and I’am glad it helped someone else.
