The plan was to do a Silver Peak loop hike/scramble near Snoqualmie Pass... however, the poor weather at the pass pushed us further east to the Teanaway.
We drove to the end of FS-9703 and followed a good trail all the way to the Miller Peak summit (6402')... where we found a close up view of Three Brothers and distant views of Freedom Peak, Navaho Peak, Earl Peak, Fortune Peak, Ingalls Peak and tops of most of the Stuart Range.
The Teanaway flower show is still going strong.
Our trip was 8.7 miles roundtrip, gaining 3187 feet of elevation... on the way down from the summit we decided to remain on Miller's SW ridge from ~6070 feet to ~5540 feet before rejoining the trail for the last 3.3 miles back to the car. Using the ridge saved .3 miles of hiking... however, the fun, scrambly terrain of the ridge didn't really save any time.
Photos, trailhead directions and downloadable GPS track of our hike to Miller Peak.
