This will be fun to follow: How far will it go?

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Looks like Zinke is trolling SFO residents and officials to draw attention away from other issues.

^ I would agree. Posing as "Mister Friend of the Environment" while he's stabbing the public in the back giving away National Monuments to his buddies in the oil and gas and mining industries. I'd trust this guy almost as far as I could pick him up and throw him across the street - phony as a three-dollar bill.

Maybe they found oil or minerals for mining under the reservoir and need to drain the water before turning it over to a strip mining operation?

I read a book about John Muir and his efforts to save HH from the damn that was subsequently built, he and others fought long and hard but in the end political BS prevailed. Later studies confirmed what Muir had suggested all along, that SF did not need that damn, at least at that time. I wonder if they do remove the dam if the valley could truly be restored to close to what it once was?

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

It will be back to what it was in a few thousand years or a little longer. SF needs the water, geological time will fix the rest. Humans are natural, there is nothing inherently bad about using the valley as water storage. I see antihuman elements in the arguments presented.
