Based on what I am seeing on the "current fire activity" layer in Caltopo, it unfortunately looks like the fire has grown significantly, and is right up on the edge of the Mystery Campground.

The Cougar Mt. fire on the Chiwawa/Entiat divide is getting close to the Tyee LO. They will probably wrap it in tin foil if it gets too close. Everybody from about 4 miles above Ardenvoir to the end of the Entiat valley have been ordered out.

1970, again.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

So nobody else may comment?

Official name is Cougar Creek fire. This map shows the perimeter determined by fire staff based on an infrared overflight last night. It also shows most recent satellite hotspots. https://mappingsupport.com/p2/gissurfer.php?center=47.850447,-120.529633&zoom=12&basemap=ESRI_scanned_topo_USA&fire=WA,cougar_creek

There was an infrared overflight of the Gilbert fire last night and the perimeter determined. I added that data to this map. https://mappingsupport.com/p2/gissurfer.php?center=48.417126,-120.498733&zoom=12&basemap=ESRI_scanned_topo_USA&fire=WA,Gilbert Remember - for the legend and more info about the data, please read the "Map tips".

The Gilbert Fire now at 7000 acres. 110 personnel working on containment. Containment estimated to not happen until late October. Not sure what that means, but guessing unless structures are threatened, they'll let it burn the unoccupied drainages especially to the west. With the rising temps the winds will probably switch from onshore westerlies to offshore easterlies and push the fire west into unburned timber and fuels in unoccupied terrain, meaning this fire could blow up big time this coming week. If that happens, there could be a repeat of the Wolverine Fire and thousands of acres of prime backcountry including magnificent larch terrain would be endangered, all the way from Stiletto to Rainbow Ridge and beyond.

For good news, looks like the Cutthroat Fire has been contained at 25 acres and they are in the process of mopping up, with the TH closures off Hwy 20 to be lifted possibly by as soon as tomorrow. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6067/
