I am looking for a loop hike that would be a great 3-4 night backpacking trip of around 30 miles and less than 8000 ft elevation gain. The closest thing I have found so far is the Buck Creek Spider Gap loop at 44 miles and 7200 ft gain. I am thinking it is just too long, though. Hiking in 4 weeks Sept 8-11. Would love to be up in the alpine with beautiful views. etc... Thanks for the suggestions.
I think the Devil's Dome loop is in the mid-30's, or you can cut it down to that by using the Ross Lake water taxi. One of the most spectacular trips I've ever taken.
