Does anyone know if the Miriam fire is impacting conditions in the Snowgrass / Old Snowy area of the Goat Rocks Wilderness? I am wondering about the air quality, reduced visibility, etc... Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
It all depends on which way the wind blows.
When I drove over White Pass on Thursday, the pass was smoky but just over the top onto the east side it was horribly smoky--lights on type smoke.
The fire crews are camped in it so you can too, if you want.

I was at Snowgrass Flats Sun-Tues. Air quality really varied. It was pretty bad down lower in the valleys and got better the higher you went. I could smell smoke often and never really saw Adams or St Helens. It seemed to be getting worse when I left Tuesday morning.
I was at Walupt Lake for 3 days last week. Light to medium smoke two days, one day of pure blue. Two days later, we were on the Bumping river fly fishing the bends upstream of the lake for another three days, the same kind of outcome. I'd be eyeing the forecasts for a good stiff prevailing W wind.
