The last time I tried this I was thinking, "there's a reason why folks do this with snow....."
I followed some beta I found on a site online. Route 2 was clear all the way the red caboose where I took a left. The gravel roads weren't bad. I turned around at the closed gate and backtracked down the road a bit...
I found a spot big enough for my rig and headed up. Mixed bag of thick brush for awhile. I found a few 'easier places further up.
I headed for where I thought the lake would be and found it. Nice and peaceful!
Further up, more bushwacking but found it much easier in the rocks.
After a couple elevation checks I was on the ridge heading to the summit.
Very nice sky but my Android phone doesn't do a justice.
A short stay in the sunshine and then I was headed back down. I found a much, much better route on the descent in the trees. A few steep downclimbs and dancing around the Devils Club, but it wasn't bad.
Back to the lake.
Below the lake I found yet another easier route and made good time back to my car. It was a nice day out, bluebird sky, stellar views and I didn't see a soul out there! And just a gentle breeze up top, perfect!
5ish miles
2,450 gain

A good holiday weekend for you. You got two peaks that I haven't done too.

I'd go back to tag a 5,000'er to the west!

Theres even an easier route than that but the main thing is getting out.
