I just bought some TNF Hedgehogs and I want to switch out the default shoelaces with a paracord lacing system.  Can you post pics/urls to paracord lacing systems which have worked well for you?

Are you thinking of simple paracord replacement, or some type of lock-lace.

With Paracord I would fuse the ends, and than add some shrink wrap tubing at the tips to prevent issues.

I have lock laces on my trail running shoes, and really prefer them.  They're simple to get extra tight for long down hill segments, and adjust on the fly.  Later loosen entirely for use as camp shoes.

I always carry about 25 feet of light paracord, to make replacement laces or what not.

Put a drop of Superglue on the ends prior to heating the shrink wrap over it.  Then, while the shrink wrap is still hot from the heat gun, stretch it out to achieve minimum diameter for easy threading though the guides.  Clip the ends with a wire cutter when dry to achieve perfect aesthetics.  Bombproof.

I prefer 2mm cord, ends shrinkwrapped as described by InFlight and Damian. 2mm braided line soaks up less moisture than paracord and dries faster. I've been experimenting with Spectra cord with shrinkwrap DIY aglets.

Hikr, found a few systems for you to check out:

http://www.dudeiwantthat.com/style/shoes/taclace-rapid-boot-lacing-system.asp

https://www.paracordplanet.com/paracord-quick-lace-kit/?sku=PAR-QLKIT-REFRB-&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9NbdBRCwARIsAPLsnFYmPa6ApBW4aOcUYb0DcVcRwwf634g6_1CID-Bn3oiLsvMBc94HYmMaAtlmEALw_wcB

https://www.instructables.com/id/Paracord-Speed-laces/

I haven't used these systems,  but they look like a good place to start.

I DO like the Salomon Speed Lacing System and have adapted the system to other footwear, but it may not be "beefy" enough for your needs:

I bought the following paracord locks which seem to have consistently good reviews:

Then I'm going to put heat shrink tubing around the cord ends like this:

This seems to be a simple and elegant solution.  I'll post a followup with the results next weekend

System, kit, apparatus, contraption, thingamajig...who cares what anyone calls it?
Did anyone not know what Hikr's meaning and intent was? Or is this early-onset Cabin Fever?
FWIW: more than one manufacturer, and lots of people, call these and similar lacing methods "systems"

Schenk I bow to your systematic description.  Note the blinky emoji was my system for indicating my post was humorous.   wink.gif

BTW, there was some good boot lace info on this thread too.

a solution in search of a problem

FWIW, I've used shoelace toggles or locks for 20+ years, although I've never thought of it as a "system."

Perhaps a shoelace strategy.  Or philosophy even.

Hikr I really am interested in your report.  Ive long consigned that my conventional approach to laces is out of fashion. I need a more dashing look.  Some have even advised I ditch the external frame pack and Svea.

Apparently a lot of folks mull over, and even agonize over, shoe and boot lacing.
Just search "lacing techniques" and you get thousands of results.

I use wide forefoot (as shown on this site) alternative lacing on most of my boots and shoes. It can be a life saver for those with Morton's neuroma, bunions or other forefoot maladies. It's a method or technique, not a system.
