It almost looks like it has different markings on one side of its body. My amateur guess would be it's some kind of genetic mosaic... Pretty cool!

Exactly! It does have unmatching markings split down the middle. Designer snake! That is why I am asking if anyone has seen this before.

That's a ordinary bull snake. For some reason that snake has turned it's body slightly to the side. Probably defensive related. What you are seeing, or should I say, what was captured in the photo is a optical illusion. The top, and side, scale patterns on a bullsnake are different. You are seeing both at the same time

lol.gif My "rancher buddy" said it's a common bull snake. I've seen one just once, many years ago, so would have to just guess.

I met some people who'd seen a 2-headed snake. I asked them if they had any more of that good stuff they'd been smoking. Later, I found that 2-headed snakes are rare but not uncommon. Some have a head at either end (like Dr. Doolittle's "Pushme - Pullya"); others have 2 or even more heads at one end. Neural tube accidents in development. There are 2-headed humans -- identical twins sharing the same torso. I read about one such pair living in adulthood -- one might expect we would have a lot to learn from them about how to get along with each other. Maybe THEY should be politicians -- they must have well-developed negotiating skills!

Some people have better things to do with their lives than walking the dog. Some don't.
