Ski's comment about a cosmic force preserving his life is no more arrogant and annoying than this comment by Bootpathguy writing about being punished by a cosmic force called Karma for taking rocks off a mountain: example of benign expression of a higher force on NWHikers that does no harm and should not be discouraged or attacked Nice trip report and congrats on a great day with your family in beautiful Washington!

Hey, glad to see you guys are having so much fun trying to stick it to each other. Just wanted to pass along that I told my partner here about that "David Koresh/Jim Jones" comment and she about pissed herself laughing. Thanks for that! up.gif

Yeah... no kidding! lol.gif Hey I want two calendars! where do I put in my order? I'd submit some photos for the calendar, but mine are pretty sucky compared to some of these other members here! I just got done moving my mom's deck furniture inside the storage shed. Everything is soaking wet out there! As for the new recipe... I just did that a week or so back, but you guys probably missed that one: Farfalle with Chicken and fresh Chanterelle mushrooms à la BK up.gif So tasty!

Maybe I should try to concoct a new kind of pie for the social. cool.gif

God has nothing to do with this. It is about accountability for your own actions.
Im not sure there a way to be held more accountable for your actions than dying for them....

I have sympathy for people and their surrounding community of family and friends. It bothers me when people go out of their way to express contempt and ridicule for others in incidents such as this. Rumi

What I find amusing is that some folks here get away with ridiculing religion and a belief in God, but any negative reference towards any other Federally Protected group is met with accusations of discrimination and hatred. Federal protected classes include: Race. Color. Religion or creed. National origin or ancestry. Sex. Age. Physical or mental disability. Veteran status. Genetic information. Citizenship. Agree or not, please respect other folk's religious beliefs and don't condemn or ridicule them.

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.

Zinke also announced a new upcoming initiative to further improve national parks by sanding down the sharp tips of mountains that pose dangerous risks to hikers.
Well, that's all fine and well, but when are they going to get around to draining the Pacific Ocean so that Park visitors up at Kalaloch won't drown in the surf anymore?

I agree, thank you for that. And using "amusing" is being polite, I'd say. I feel bad for those who ridicule the notion of God. But, I can't fix that so I continue on as best I can, sometimes good, other times not so great.
