Hi all, I have some visitors here from North Carolina this weekend and I'd like to take them for a hike somewhere in the North Cascades. I have my eye on Skyline Divide but trail reports are a little sparse on WTA as of late. I imagine there's probably a dusting up there in the evenings that melts out in the day but would appreciate some confirmation it's not under snow before we make the drive from Seattle. Anyone been there or in the area in the past few days? We're shooting for Sunday right now.

I was up there about a week ago, so that doesn't help you any. But based on the experiences of two thru hikers that bailed off the PCT this week that showed up on various threads here, I'm guessing there's a lot more than a dusting at the elevation of Skyline Divide. More like several feet probably. I think the high country is in full winter mode now.

My guess would be one to possibly two feet of very mushy snow.
