Well, not really, but for most of the day, it seemed like it. We did take note that the three groups we met who were descending from the summit were dressed like they had come from the Arctic Circle. The reality sank in at about 5,000ft, when snow and ice began to cover the trail and I had to stop and put on my down jacket and down mitts with two hand warmers each. Thankfully, I had a third pair of hand warmers which I traded to Hiking Partner for his spikes, since I had left mine in the car after seeing very little snow on Dirtyface from the road below. I had forgotten about the stands of trees higher up where snow and ice lurk in waiting for the unsuspecting.
It took us several hours to climb up the 4,000 feet up to the weather station, but it was so cold, we only stayed up there for 15 minutes.
Nevertheless, it was a fantastic day to be in the mountains, and on the way back, we were treated to a moonrise over Lake Wenatchee!

This attire worked well most of the day. It was fun pretending it was summer again!

Until we ran into snow and ice at about 5,000 feet..
