Release the cats! I have no kitty pictures, sorry--allergies.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Cool! I'm gonna take my bobcat hiking. He's totally under voice control. The last time I said "stop eating that dog" her eventually did it.

Best comment on the thread (though "unleash the hounds" was pretty OK too :-) ) I supposed folks could now hike with their dogs from the Longmire gate up toward Paradise so long as they stay on the pavement... Or is the Park telling folks they can't be on that road at all?

The road to Paradise is closed to all travel, even on foot. They are still running plows to keep the road open for "essential maintenance". Some friends of ours son is a LE (Law Enforcement) ranger at Mt Rainier-- his work schedule and the schedules of other LE rangers at the park hasn't changed, so the shutdown doesn't look like it's a better time to get away with scoffing the NPS rules.
