Julia and I utilized an existing snowshoe track to the summit of McCausland today. We weren't hiking up Smith Brook Road until 11am. Shortly after setting out we ran into nwhikers member Daffish. He was escorting a group of women on a snowshoe. Nice to meet you! They were the only group we saw all day. We didnt need snowshoes on the road and put them on when we left it. It was a bluebird day, and cold!

We followed the track from the weekend all the way to the summit, arriving just after 2pm. It was windy and cold. Views were good.

We didnt hang long, as days are short. We made it back to the car around 5pm. The vitamin D was much needed.

Great day to be up there! These were some of the largest hoarfrost crystals I had ever seen:
