The second site we visited was Rinker Point.  Last year, I got burned trying to find it after not doing my homework. I went to Rinker Point (labeled on USGS maps) and where firelookout.org placed it. Mistake. It was much lower down the ridge.

Yesterday we searched several locations but found no remnants. Logging changed the location a lot but at home now and even more research, I'm confident in where it was at based on the info provided in my trip report.

Nice job of matching the panos to reconcile conflicting records and identify the correct location for the historical record, Eric.  Very interesting.

This was a fun outing but saddened by lack of remnants found. Thanks again for the great research, Eric.

Eric, Any plans to branch out to surrounding states once you've visited and documented all the Wa sites?

Iím positive that I will only do Washington since there is just too much in Oregon and Idaho.  I know I will finish the Cascades and Olympics but I will have to be strong to get all the NE Washington sites.  So just WA.  It seems in my travels I end up with others though.  Without planning it, I ended up just last year with 10 Oregon lookout sites while peakbagging during family and friends trips to the state.
